On Friday, October 3rd, our school immersed itself in reading together with thousands of students, teachers, libraries, and bookshops across the region. Once again this year, we enthusiastically joined the Regional Reading Marathon “Il Veneto Legge 2025”, an initiative promoted by the Department of Culture of the Veneto Region to celebrate the joy and value of reading.
The day began with a clear goal: to remind everyone that reading is not just a school exercise, but a fundamental practice for growing, thinking, and dreaming. Books open worlds, spark imagination, strengthen language, and help develop a critical perspective on the present.
This morning, Primary and Lower Secondary School students gathered around the school spaces to share a special moment: each one reading a book of their choice, transforming the school into a large community of readers. Alongside them, teachers also actively participated, sharing some of their favorite books and inspiring curiosity, questions, and new literary passions among the students.
For Lower Secondary students, the reading marathon is part of a wider project that also includes a meeting with the author Luigi Dal Cin, who has written over one hundred books translated into several languages and has won national awards for children’s and young adult literature. He will soon be a guest at our school. LS 2 and LS 3 as part of the project “Awareness of Self and Others”, will read his new book “Sulla porta del mondo”, which the author will present during his visit.
Taking part in Il Veneto Legge means being part of a widespread cultural movement that places books at the heart of individual and collective growth. This day reminded us that reading is never a solitary act: it is dialogue, connection, and community. Initiatives like this reflect our vision of the school: not just knowledge, but also curiosity, creativity, and empathy—values that will stay with our students for life.
