Yesterday marked the joyful conclusion of “Art Time Travellers – Connecting Artists Past and Present”, a project designed and led by our atelierista Kate Taylor.
This artistic journey guided the children through the fascinating world of art across the centuries, connecting the great masters of the past with contemporary artists, and exploring how artworks can communicate across time.
After an initial phase of lessons and exploration in class, the project opened its doors to families: parents were invited to take part in special workshops together with their children—an opportunity to experiment, create, and be amazed by the power of shared imagination.
Each class worked on a specific theme chosen by Kate, delving into the work of artists from different periods and discovering creative and unexpected connections.
The final celebration took place yesterday during the school assembly, where all the classes had the chance to present their projects to their peers, sharing reflections, artworks, and lots of creativity.
Within the Art Time Travellers project, another special activity took place: “The Big Vote.”
For several days, the school corridors turned into a collective art gallery: all the artworks studied and reinterpreted by the classes were displayed, and the children toured the exhibition to admire the creations and vote for their favorites.
The three most voted artworks were announced during the assembly—met with applause, smiles, and a wonderful sense of shared pride.
The Art Time Travellers project once again showed how art can be a bridge between eras, generations, and cultures, and how children’s creativity can illuminate every journey through time.
