Our school had a morning full of enthusiasm, collaboration, and sporting spirit. Students, teachers, and families participated with energy and passion in a special event that brought together two flagship initiatives: O.RE.CO (Organize, Realize, Run) for the Lower Secondary and the H-IS Team Run for the Primary School. Both projects share a common vision: using sport as an educational tool, capable of uniting, motivating, and teaching fundamental values. The goal is not only to run faster but to learn how to challenge oneself, face physical effort, support classmates, and respect opponents. Every finish line, big or small, becomes an opportunity to grow together and strengthen the sense of belonging that defines our school community.
For Lower Secondary students, O.RE.CO is much more than a running race: it is a true interdisciplinary educational project that begins well before the event day. In the weeks leading up to it, students were actively involved in organizing every aspect of the event: studying the course and analyzing its characteristics, designing medals digitally using graphic software, and then producing them with 3D printing to be used during the awards ceremony. This process allowed students to experience the importance of planning, collaboration, and shared responsibility, transforming the sporting activity into a complete learning experience that combines science, technology, and teamwork. During the race, each participant measured themselves against their own limits, supported by the cheering of classmates and the proud eyes of teachers. The most touching moment came during the awards ceremony: Alvise, the winner of the first-year boys’ category, decided to share his first-place podium with Nicholas, his classmate who had finished last, inviting him to join him. A simple yet profoundly meaningful gesture that moved everyone and perfectly embodied the true spirit of sport: inclusion, sharing, and growing together.
Following this, the morning continued with the H-IS Team Run, a team race for Primary 3, 4 and 5 students. The 600-meter course was designed to highlight collaboration over competition, with the final time based on the last runner to finish. The fastest children were encouraged to support and motivate their teammates, so everyone could cross the finish line together. Amid smiles, cheers, and helping hands, the students experienced the joy of teamwork, learning that every step taken together matters more than any personal victory.
O.RE.CO and the H-IS Team Run are not just sporting events: they are educational experiences that fully reflect our school’s philosophy — an education that integrates mind, body, and heart. Through sport, our students learn to accept challenges, manage emotions, collaborate, and respect others. The 2025 edition reminded all of us that running together is far more important than winning alone, because every race shared becomes a lesson in life.
