The project combined science, technology, and sustainability, giving students a hands-on, interdisciplinary experience. They designed and built a smart greenhouse using Tinkercad, 3D printing, and Micro:bit sensors to monitor soil humidity and temperature. By collecting and analyzing data, students learned how to care for plants effectively, observe natural cycles, and develop environmental awareness.

Through the project, students gained skills in coding, digital design, and data analysis, while strengthening teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. Daily logs, graphs, and observations turned the greenhouse into a living laboratory, where learning was tangible and engaging.

The award ceremony not only celebrated the students’ dedication, curiosity, and passion, but also gave them the opportunity to take the stage and present their work in front of all the guests. Standing alongside older students and professionals, the children confidently explained the process behind building the greenhouse, demonstrated how the sensors worked, and shared what they had learned throughout the project. Their clear, enthusiastic presentation was welcomed with applause and highlighted the depth of their understanding and commitment.

The recognition they received reflects a project that proves innovation and sustainability can grow hand in hand.
With “A Window on the World,” PS5 of H-FARM Rosà demonstrated that school is a place where technology and nature meet, and where today’s students can become tomorrow’s sustainable innovators.
