Super(able) Project

Super(able) Project 2560 1920 School Office

With the “Super(ability)” project, students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and see the world from a different perspective. As part of the school’s civic education program—already enriched through partnerships with local volunteer organizations—this initiative turns lunchtime into a meaningful learning experience.

The aim is straightforward but impactful: to give students a hands-on understanding of what it’s like to live with a physical disability and to navigate everyday tasks with added challenges.

The project kicked off with a powerful first activity. During lunch, students experienced what it might feel like to be unable to speak, simulating deafness. This led to reflections on communication, nonverbal cues, and the importance of being attentive to others.

In the coming weeks, Wednesdays will be dedicated to new immersive activities. Students will take part in exercises simulating blindness and limited use of their limbs. For the blindness experience, they will work in pairs: one student will guide while the other, blindfolded, relies entirely on their partner. Wearing socks as “gloves” will further limit hand movement, helping simulate motor difficulties.

These simple but meaningful activities are designed to build empathy and awareness. They encourage students to recognize challenges others may face and to appreciate abilities that are often taken for granted.

“Super(ability)” is more than just a project—it’s a real growth experience. It invites students to become more thoughtful, respectful, and aware individuals, ready to support others in their daily lives.Because inclusion starts with understanding—and understanding can begin with the smallest everyday moments.
