Dear Parents,
As mentioned during our class meeting, thanks to our membership of Nord Anglia Education (NAE), this year our school has the opportunity to take part in a number of international initiatives through Global Campus, the platform connecting students from Nord Anglia schools around the world.
With the Reception class, I have decided to join the “Explore the World Through…” project, which celebrates the diversity of our community through food, stories and traditions. Three special days will take place throughout the school year as part of the project.
The first one will be on 16 October, with “Food From Around the World Day”, a day dedicated to discovering food and culinary traditions from different countries.
It will be a great opportunity for the children to learn about different foods and traditions, also through photos and videos shared with other Nord Anglia schools around the world. For example, we have already discovered that in the Philippines, one of the children’s favourite dishes is roast suckling pig with banana ketchup!
How can you take part?
We would love for each child to bring a small snack or traditional dish connected to their culture or family traditions, to share with the class.
A small portion will be more than enough for everyone who would like to have a taste.
Please add a label with:
- the name of the dish
- the ingredients
- the recipe, if you would like to share it
We are looking forward to a special morning together, discovering new tastes and traditions from around the world.
