Dear Parents,
This year, our school is once again taking part in Il Veneto Legge 2026 – Reading Marathon, an initiative promoted by the Veneto Region’s Department of Culture to celebrate reading and bring together schools, libraries, bookshops and other cultural organisations across the region.
Reading is a valuable opportunity to develop language skills, creativity and imagination while encouraging curiosity and critical thinking.
On Friday, 23 October, during the morning, our students will take part in the Reading Marathon, spending time reading their favourite books in different areas of the school. Teachers will also share some of their own favourite books with the children through engaging read-aloud sessions.
To mark the occasion, we kindly ask all children and students to bring a book of their choice to school.
Reception children will also take part in the initiative and are welcome to bring a favourite picture book or sensory book to share with their classmates.
In addition, KS2 and Lower School students will participate in Speed Booking. Much like speed dating, students will take turns briefly presenting a book to a classmate, sharing their reading experiences, discovering new titles and exploring one another’s interests.
It will be a lovely opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading together and discover new stories!
Kind regards,
Student Office
