Guggenheim Project – Venice 1920 1080 School Office

Dear Parents,

We would like to inform you that a school trip to the Guggenheim Museum in Venice has been organized for the PY4 class on Tuesday, May 26th.

The children will take part in a private guided tour (in English) of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, where they will view and discuss artworks connected to this year’s project, Signs & Symbols. Following the tour, they will participate in a workshop to express their creativity. Since the museum is closed to the general public on that day, our students will enjoy an exclusive experience.

Purpose of the trip:

  • To introduce children to modern art, stimulating curiosity, observation, and personal reflection.
  • To foster critical and creative thinking through guided dialogue and the exploration of unconventional artistic meanings, techniques, and forms.
  • To provide an immersive cultural experience in a prestigious and inspiring museum setting, promoting respect for cultural heritage and proper behavior in public spaces.

Educational objectives:

  • To engage children in exploring and discussing key works from the Peggy Guggenheim Collection to deepen their understanding of this year’s project theme.
  • To promote creativity and hands-on learning through participation in a guided workshop within the Guggenheim art space.

Organizational details:

Departure from Bassano del Grappa train station at 8:47 AM (all students must arrive at the station by 8:30 AM to ensure a timely departure).
Return at 5:45 PM at Bassano train station.
Lunch: A packed lunch will be provided by the school.

The children will be accompanied by their teachers: Shannon Leili, Elisa Miotti, and Kate Taylor.

Please note that this activity is an integral part of our school curriculum; therefore, it is considered a regular school day held off-campus. In the event of non-participation, the student will be marked absent on the electronic register.

Best regards,

Student Office
